Tukang Besi Islands, Wakatobi

a remote Indonesian archipelago Southeast of Southeast Sulawesi. Four major islands covering an area of 821 sqkm (Wangi-Wangi, Kaledupa, Tomia, Binongkoko) Several reef areas, small atolls and coral islands belong as well to the same area, tith a total population of 80’000. The coral reefs of the Tukang Besi Islands are off the continental shelf and drop offs extend mostly to more than 600m.
